  • 03/04/19: Smith 19Station Volunteer Fire Department Station #1 50 Lee Rd #430, Smiths Station, AL 36877 is being designated as the area for citizens affected by the storms today to seek assistance with sheltering or other unmet needs.
  • 03/04/19: East Alabama Medical Center receives blood from LifeSouth. The hospital reported it was supplied Sunday but asked for donations on Monday.
  • 03/04/19: Long Term Recovery Fund has been set up by Community Foundation of East Alabama. List as Lee County Diaster Fund contact number 334-744-1020 or email.
  • 03/04/19: Opelika Animal Hospital is offering boarding services for displaced animals at no charge. You can find contact information here.

  • ​03/04/19: Greater Peace Missionary Baptist church is opening for perishable supply donations.
  • ​03/04/19: Gorree's Furiture is accepting donations, if anyone is wanting to donate furniture they will come and pick it up. Contact the store 334-742-0607​.
  • 03/04/19: St. Ellis Full Gospel Church is accepting perishable donations.
  • 03/04/19: Auburn Church of the Highlands is taking donations.
  • 03/04/19: U-Haul of Central Alabama and Southern Georgia is offering 30 days of free self storage and U-Box container uses for victims of the tornadoes.  Two U-Haul facilities have been made available to provide disaster relief. Families seeking additional information or needing to arrange for 30 days free self-storage should contact the nearest participating facility.
  • 03/05/19:  Lee County Residents affected by the storms of March 3, 2019 are eligible for bags of ice. Each household can collected 2 bags of ice per day from the distribution center located at First Baptist Church Opelika. Trailer is located in parking lot at the corner of 10th St and Ave B starting at 5pm CST on March 5, 2019. Will be open everyday from 9am-9pm CST
  • 03/05/19: Supplies (non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, blankets/pillows, tools, clothing) for survivors will be available for distribution at Turner Fence Co. at 15447 AL. Hwy 51, Opelika, AL:

    Women's Hope Medical Center will be assisting survivors with diapers, wipes, formula, etc.

  • 03/05/19: Greater Peace Baptist Church located 650 Jeter Ave Opelika, AL. taking donations 8am-6pm.
  • 03/05/19: The debris to the "RIGHT OF WAY," per Lee County Highway Dept.: If  you have debris as a result of the tornadoes please push your debris to the "right of way" no closer than 3 feet from the edge of the pavement. Please do not block your driveway or gutters.  Please do not place debris around fire hydrants or any other utilities.
    Please separate your debris by vegetative (trees and limbs) and construction materials (wood, insulation, etc) and large appliances.

  • ​03/07/19: Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief has free laundry services located at Providence Baptist Church, 2807 Lee Rd 166, and Smith Station behind government building 1100 Lee Rd 298, Times 9am-5pm CST.
  • 03/07/19: DONATION WAREHOUSE:  A donation warehouse is opening at 4 p.m. today. The warehouse is located at 15691 U.S. Highway 280, Smiths Station, Alabama.  The hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for drop off.
  • 03/08/19: All volunteers can report to TWO different locations Saturday and Sunday:

    Smiths Station Baptist Church, 2460 Lee Road 430, from 8-5 CST, 9-6 EST

  • 03/08/19: A second Volunteer Reception Center has been set up and will be open Saturday and Sunday only. Location VRC#2 is Sanford Middle School at 1500 Lee Road 11. Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Overflow parking will be at Beauregard Elementary.  We appreciate the outpouring of support but please do not enter the restricted areas. Volunteer Reception Center #1 is at the Smiths Station Baptist Church at 2460 County Rd 430. It will be open today and Saturday, March 9 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. CST.

  • 03/11/19: BEGINNING TODAY,  MARCH 11TH, 2019: The Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) for Beauregard will be located at Windmill Acres, 1258 LR 47.  It will open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. (CST).

    Plastic totes with lids and handles, large lawn type garbage bags.  Please note: This location is for drop offs only. It is not open for public pick up.

  • 03/13/19: Head out to Academy Sports, 2325 Bent Creek Road, Auburn, on Wednesday (03/13/19) to purchase a weather radio on site (around $30) or bring any brand radio that you already have fora tune-up or programming!  Please remember to bring 3 AA batteries (or purchase on site).
  • 03/14/19: Disaster Recovery Centers: 2 Disaster Recovery Centers will open tomorrow for survivors. BOTH Centers will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST. The centers will be open 7 days a week until further notice.  The locations are: Providence Baptist Church, 2807 LR 166, Opelika, AL. 36804, and  Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 784 LR 298, Smiths Station, AL.36877

Olive Missionary Baptist Church , 784 LR 298 Smiths Station, Al.  Mutual Aid Resource Center (MARC) in the Old Dollar General Building, 16541 U.S. Hwy 280 Smiths Station, Al., Open 1 p.m. EST to 5 p.m. EST. 
  • 03/16/19: SMITHS STATION SUNDAY CLOSURES: Smiths Station Fire Station #1 (Point of Distribution), Smiths Station VRC (Volunteer Reception Center), located @ Smiths Station City Hall.   Both will re-open Monday morning at 8:00 EST and close at 5:00 p.m. EST.
  • 03/16/19:  We can never say THANK YOU enough to the countless volunteers who have assisted us in the field during response and recovery. We have also had a huge outpouring of companies, churches and individuals provide meals for our volunteers. This has been so AWESOME!
  • 03/18/19:  Begining Monday, 03/18, volunteer meals will no longer be provided. Please ensure that you bring food, water, any over the counter medication that you may need while you continue to help the citizens that were affected by this disaster. Thank you again!
  • 03/21/19: Volunteer teams will be assisting us with the transition from the OLD WAREHOUSE on Hwy 280 to the NEW WAREHOUSE,  located at 309 Williamson Avenue Opelika, Al. This is going to be the long term warehouse.  Donations will no longer be accepted at the warehouse on 280 and will now be received at the long term warehouse.  Thank you to everyone who is assisting with this transition tomorrow!  We could use volunteers at both locations to complete this transition!
