Halimeh Shubair had cancer, she was treated, in remission, finished school, married, became a teacher, and then delivered a precious baby girl, Sarah. Hali was delivering Sarah in what she thought was remission of her cancer. During the c-section delivery, doctors found a tumor on her ovary, removed it, to find the unthinkable - her hematology malignancy has shown up in the tumor form in her ovary. Now in remission, again, they have found that baby Sarah has a mass in the brain that is B cell leukemia, which was transferred through the placenta. Bone marrow biopsy completed and while many difficult days lie ahead, this baby has a Mama who is a huge fighter, a warrior. Sarah and her Mama, their family and friends, need prayers.
July 2019 Update: Hamileh's cancer has returned ; it's localized in some areas of her skin. Thankfully it is not in the blood, but it makes it harder to come up with a game plan. She completed her last radiation treatment on the 19th. The family may have to go to a different hospital, out of state, which puts a strain on finances, on top of also getting treatments for baby Sarah. Due to the treatments baby Sarah is receiving, she goes through onesies fairly quickly. She is currently in size 24 months, if you would like to send some, the address is: 1006 Miss Annies Drive, Jacksonville, Alabama 36265.
